This major intersection upgrade included:
- New Public Lighting
- construction of the new roundabout to replace the existing crossroad intersection
- installation of a new safety barrier on the western approach to the intersection to prevent vehicles from impacting a power pole
- installation of new way-finding signage, kerbing and line marking
- new asphalt surface for safety and durability.
Benefits
Upgrading the Cape Otway Road and Winchelsea-Deans Marsh Road intersection to:
- reduce the risk and severity of intersection crashes
- support safer turning movements for all vehicles
- increase visibility on all approaches, including at night through public lighting
- improved journey for all road users by clearly defining the intersection.
Scope of Work:
For this project, Morton Power Services undertook the full electrical infrastructure package, including:
• Supply and installation of 13 x 11m Slip Base Light Poles with a range of 3m to 4.5m Double Outreach Brackets
• Supply and Installation of 18 x Service Pit Terminations
• Detailed electrical design and documentation
• All necessary clearances to meet Powercor’s tie in requirements
• Installation of over 1000m of Service Cable Incl hauling, jointing and use of submersible fuses for connection of lighting
